Reference

Endpoints and parameters

Version 1 is intentionally small, stable, and read-only.
GET/api/v1

Returns the API discovery document, supported issuance kinds, limits, and links.

GET/api/v1/issuances

Lists compact source-linked records. Accepts kind, limit (1–200),sort (newest or oldest), an analysis-backed topic, and the opaque cursor returned by the previous page.

GET/api/v1/search

Searches titles, subjects, and indexed text. q is required (2–500 characters);kind, topic, sort, and limit (1–100) are optional. Relevance is the default search order.

GET/api/v1/issuances/{slug}

Returns one record with indexed full text. Use a canonical slug such as rmc-44-2024 or doc-text-sample.

Existing /api/issuances and /api/search routes remain available for compatibility. New integrations should use /api/v1.

Responsible use

Keep provenance visible.

Verify consequential claims

Extracted text, relevance scores, and summaries are research aids. Check the returned source_url before relying on a provision.

Preserve source links

Each result includes its independent record URL and the BIR source document when available.

Use the service fairly

Cache stable results where appropriate and avoid aggressive polling. Beta access has no SLA.
